Drop off a Toy Donation for Toys for Tots
The objectives of the Foundation are to help less fortunate children throughout the United States experience the joy of Christmas; to play an active role in the development of one of our nation’s most valuable resources – our children; to unite all members of local communities in a common cause for three months each year during the annual toy collection and distribution campaign; and to contribute to improving communities in the future. Use their interactive map to locate a donation box near you.
Donate New Socks
Socks are one of the most requested items for donation at shelters. It’s easy to pick up a pack next time you’re in the store, or order some socks online to be dropped off.
Shop at a Local Market
Jacksonville has so many local markets that we love. If you’re looking to support local makers online be sure to check out our guide to some of our favorite Riverside Arts Market vendors that offer online shopping.
Donate Clothing to a Local Drive
We love seeing local students get involved with giving back to our community. The Giving Closet Project is an amazing organization that helps families in our community ensure that they have clothing. One of our interns, Veda, is coordinating a clothing drive as part of her Girl Scout Silver Project.
Read to the Animals at Jacksonville Humane Society
Did you know that kids can participate in Pawsitive Reading at the Jax Humane Society? Reading to the animals can calm them and help lower stress levels while they’re waiting to be adopted.
Drop off Towels or Blankets at Mission House
Mission house is a charity here in Jacksonville Beach that. Their goal is to empower individuals affected by homelessness in the Beaches area by providing food, clothing, medical care, and support services with an avenue to self-sufficiency. You can support them by donating items directly.
Donate Your Bricks with LEGO® Replay
Play has the power to change children’s lives. When children play, they learn how to problem solve, collaborate, and think creatively. By donating your used bricks, you can help share the power of play with children who need it most. Visit their site to print a free shipping label. All you have to do is box up the bricks and drop them in the mail.
Add Books to a Free Little Library
There are lots of free little libraries around Jacksonville Beach, and even throughout Jacksonville. It’s the perfect time of year to clean off those bookshelves and refill some local little libraries around town.
Pick Up Trash at the Park or Beach
With cooler weather, it’s the perfect time to visit one of our great Jacksonville parks. Take a bag and some gloves and pick up a little trash while you’re there!
Donate Cat Food to an Animal Shelter
The Caffeinated Cat is a cafe in Jacksonville Beach that’s more than just coffee. They are Jacksonville’s first and only Feline Coffee & Wine shop. Here you can have a cup of coffee or glass of wine with one of their cats and even adopt if you bond with one. If you’re looking for a place to donate some treats, they’re a great spot to visit.
