The Caffeinated Cat Cafe: Coffee and Cuddles

If you’re like me you LOVE coffee. Like, get excited when you hear about a new coffee shop to try. So we were excited to stop by The Caffeinated Cat Cafe in Jacksonville Beach for coffee and some kitty cuddles. Please note: children under 6 are no longer allowed in the cat room, so please plan accordingly if you’re planning to visit with little kids!

We are lucky to have many amazing coffee shops all around the beaches and Jacksonville area, BUT one that is unlike the others is The Caffeinated Cat Cafe. Part Jacksonville animal rescue, part delicious drinks, if you have never been, then we highly recommend you plan a visit.

Located on 1st Ave N in Jacksonville Beach, this small coffee shop not only offers delicious cat themed drinks (including lemonade with many flavor options) you can also pet fuzzy, sleepy felines. Many of which are available for adoption. The cafe and local non-profit Mayport Cats share an owner allowing them to raise money for the organization and allowing visitors a chance to play with potential new furry friends.

When you walk in, you notice most of this former beach bungalow is a space for the cats. The coffee area is small, but efficient, with windows into the rooms the cats enjoy.

The employees are good about making sure to tell you about all the cats, and only allow small groups at a time in with the cats to keep the cats more comfortable.

We came during kitty morning naptime in the Spring sunshine pouring in the windows, but it was obvious the cats were used to being loved on while asleep as they didn’t mind the pets. There are plenty of toys around to entertain the cats when they are feeling more active, so every time you go it may be a little different.

No reservation needed, but if it’s busy you might have to wait a little to go in and see the cats.

  1. They have a new “rule” which they have not shared on Facebook or Instagram. They no longer allow children under the age of 6 in the “cat room.” We left with our 9 year old and 4 year old in tears. Terrible experience.
