Jacksonville might seem like a pretty urban city to most, but hidden in some unexpected areas of town are lots of family owned farms. Some of these farms in Jacksonville specialize in strawberries, blueberries or other u-pick produce you’re familiar with, but there are a few that may surprise you. With a diverse selection of crops and farm animals, be sure to check out some of our favorite farms found right here in Jacksonville.
Backyard Buffalo
Tucked away in Ponte Vedra is Backyard Buffalo, a small micro dairy farm that produces some of the most delicious buffalo milk products you’ve ever tried. You can find their products at Native Sun and various farmers markets around Jacksonville.

Bee Friends Farm
Started in 2013, Bee Friends Farm is one of the top honey producers in North Florida. They recently opened a retail store where you can purchase their items in person, but honey can be also bought online or at other retailers around Jacksonville.
Shady Rest Alpaca Farm
Shady Rest Alpaca Farm is a fun and educational destination for families, kids, schools, and groups of all kinds. Set in a peaceful countryside setting, our farm offers hands-on experiences with our friendly alpacas, guided tours, and a chance to explore life on a working farm.
Berry Good Farms
Nestled amongst the North Florida School of Special Education’s campus lies Berry Good Farms, an urban farm featuring a wide variety of fruits, vegetables and herbs, as well as hydroponics and aquaponics, vertical grow poles, a greenhouse housing herbs, veggie starts and microgreens.

Blu By U Farm
Blu By U Farms is one of our favorite spots for blueberry picking in North Florida. It’s a family owned and operated farm that specializes in blueberries. Their 8 acre farm is open for visitors to pick their own berries during the growing season which starts at the end of April.

Congaree and Penn
Congaree and Penn began as a small rice farm and has evolved into so much more. The farm has become a premier destination for weddings, farm dinners, tours and even a family picnic. Take the kids and explore the farm or go for a kid-free dinner at their phenomenal on-site restaurant.
Down To Earth Farm
Down To Earth Farm is a small, sustainable farm that has been growing high quality vegetables and flowers since 2007. They believe in the importance of nutrient dense, locally grown food. Find them each Saturday during our growing season at the Riverside Arts Market.

Geiger Pioneer Farm
Geiger Pioneer Farm was established in 1877 as a forestry farm making it the oldest managed tree farm in the state of Florida. These 20 acres of pine trees, barns, and farmland are rich with old Florida history.
Eat Your Yard Jax
Eat Your Yard Jax is an edible plant nursery and education center. They offer edible yard consultations and sell berries, herbs, veggies, and other fresh produce. They are passionate about enabling people to grow their own food using organic practices.

One EPIC Farm
EPIC Animals Outreach (EPIC) is a nonprofit 501c3 that provides humane education outreach to children and adults in Northeast Florida and seeks to create a more kind and compassionate world for people, animals, and the environment through outreach, service, and rescue.

Nana’s Blueberry Farm
Nana’s Blueberry Farm – Formerly Russell Blueberry Farms is located on the Northside of Jacksonville and has a u-pick season runs Memorial Day thru Independence Day. They are only open Saturday mornings unless specifically noted on their social media.
