Brown’s Farm: Strawberry Picking in North Florida

Spring is in the air and strawberries are in season. If you’re looking for a fun day trip from Jacksonville, check out Brown’s Farm for Strawberry Picking. Just a 90 minute drive from Jacksonville, Brown’s Farm offers u-pick strawberries and a variety of other fruits and vegetables available for purchase.

Brown’s Farm has Tons of Strawberries

The first thing you might notice at Brown’s Farm is the rows and rows of strawberry plants. They’ll provide you with a bucket to pick and let you know which rows are available that day. They ask that you don’t step over the plants to skip rows to avoid damaging plants or irrigation.

Kids Love Picking Strawberries

Strawberry picking is a fun, family friendly activity and children are welcome at Brown’s Farm. They ask that you closely supervise them, and never leave them unsupervised in the field. There is a port-a-potty available for use while you’re at the farm, but there is no baby changing area, so plan accordingly.

Call Before You Go

Strawberry season can vary so be sure to call ahead and ask if there are strawberries available to pick. You can also keep up-to-date on the Brown’s Farm Facebook page. During the u-pick season, the farm is open Monday-Saturday 9am-5pm. The current price for u-pick berries is $3.50 a pound. Be sure pack plenty of snacks, water, and sunscreen so you’re prepared for a day of strawberry fun!

Brown’s Farm are sustainable farmers. Their strawberries are not organic but they do work closely with the University of Florida on different measures of pest control other than spraying pesticides.
